Kingdom Hearts Recs:
Change My Stripes by Sephiroth's Stalker
Summery: It's hard enough being a senior in high school. It's even harder when your best friend is in love with you, and you're not attracted to other guys. But then, why can't you stop staring at your new English teacher? Riku.x.Sora & Squall.x.Sora
Heh, re-read it for the tenth time! This, ladies and gentleman, is what sparked my delicious interest in Leon/Sora. Oh, my fuckin' God. I really cannot convey how marvelous this story is- the writing itself is not all that spectacular, but the plot, the characterizations, the tension(sexual or otherwise) made me love it. The dialogue never fails to tickle my funny bone, despite the fact that I've read it many times. Leon's a stoic bastard. Riku's a pervert. A BIG pervert. I cackle whenever I read the flirting between Riku and Sora. Beautiful. Ab-sol-utly beautiful.
"Sora, just when did you become so goddamn fuckable?" Riku asked, without batting an eye.
Frog Prince by Vash's Girl
Summery: [RiSo, LeSo] It all began with a book. A book about a frog prince. As Selphie plays mastermind with her latest story, Sora can only read about Riku and himself in a fairy tale land that he wishes he could be a part of.
It's hard to find Leon/Sora, really, but I'm really lucky that I found this and that it's Vash's Girl's story. Riku's goddamn straight, freakin' goddamn straight and Sora's pinin' after him, wonderful. I love how Vash's Girl wrote Riku's character, all the same sullenness and the same stubbornness he has in the games, but here, he's a little more self-centered. Sora's cute and sad and indecisive. It kills me. Leon's younger, less scarred in life, but he has his own share of problems. I sense Sora's gonna be a problem for him. Ouch.
"Weeell…" Sora began, turning and walking again, forcing Squall to stare a moment before following after him, evening their footsteps together. "You see, I had this teddy bear when I was little. And Riku used to pick on and me and pick on me about him, but I really loved it. Anyway, its name was Mr. Flufflesworth. Heehee, crazy name, right?" When Squall just nodded, wondering where this was going, Sora added, "That’s why I think that name suits him. It looks kind of like my old one, you know?"
antithesis by archy the cockroach
Summery: when you're in the dark. [antisora.x.riku]
I'm in love with archy's stuff. I'm in love with the Anti-Sora she describes her. Anti-Sora is not a pleasant thing - I was shocked myself when Sora accessed his Anti form. I was like OMGWTF??!!! This story is so pretty, so emo-tastic, so 'romantic' that I swoon whenever I read it.
Your second skin peeled off, and your eyes are yellow and you’re just a little thing on the ground, a shadow, a spider on the wall leaking insects and venom from your mouth and grinning with a stitched face.
You’re just smoke and mirrors, a play on the light, the closer you get to it and the greater you are.
Sailor Moon Rec:
Knocking On Forbidden Doors by Celeste Goodchild
Summery: An old story reposted. A peculiar tale of Demando and Setsuna, and what might happen if both decided against the greater goods of their respective peoples.
Celeste Goodchild is teh BOMB. I've read her shit when I was on my Black Moon Clan fix. The summery basically says it all: Its Demando and Setsuna all the way, baby. I never thought how their dynamics would work if they were to speak to each other. Well, once I read this story, I wished there was more of the same thing. Demando really does want what's best for the ones he cares about and Setsuna's out to let him see a universe where all of his beloved ones are safe and sound. Made me feel sad.
"This is my son... Demando..." he whispered hoarsely, looking me directly in the eyes. However, my gaze dropped down as the child stirred at the sound of his name, opening violet eyes that screamed at me "I am you! And I will destroy Saffir just as well as you did!"
Xiaolin Showdown Recs:
A Taste of Irony by ScribblerSummery: [one shot] Another way it could've gone. Featuring the Original Dragons, Wuya's fall from grace, and the most bizarre explanation you’re ever likely to find for why Omi grew up in the Xiaolin Temple.
I love reading about the DWCG-era, so naturally, Scribbler is one of the people at the top of the list whenever I think of DWCG-era fics.Sometimes I get bored with the present day Xiaolin Dragons and need a little more angst because really, the present day dragons are still kinda new at the business and haven't experienced much harshness. The bad guys are too lazy to show them intense harshness. Anyways, back to the fic.
I love Scribbler's Wuya, she young and in love, but she becomes more ruthless as the years go by until she was imprisoned in that puzzle box for her misdeeds. I've thought of the whole Omi being Wuya's and Dashi's son, but never got around to doing anything, so I was giddy when I saw that Scribbler mentioned it here. All around good fic, worth reading. DUH.
They were seventeen the first time they kissed, and he said, "We’re going to save the world, and we’re going to look good doing it."
Another Time: Eleven Misplaced by TamerTerra
Summery: Drabble series in which Omi changes the past, but not in the same way as in Time After Time, resulting in a totally different parallel universe. Crack: DashiWuya, ChaseGuan, RaiKim prehet later on maybe.
Tamer has undone herself, really, this is why I love her. She writes things that, at first, I cannot see, but once I read it, I'm like 'yeah, I get it'. An example of that is Well Together, a Guan/Wuya story. Guan/Wuya?...you don't say...Ugh, I get sidetracked too often. I want to flap around, proclaiming how much I love this story, but it's a lil' too late at night to do it.
Omi time-travels in between the TAT episodes and its a whole new reality and please, its a whole new reality, (I think, from what I gathered when Tamer and I discussed once) parallel to the world he belongs too. All I have to say 'holy shit, Tamer must be some sort of genius or just knows her paradoxes.' Again, Omi is the son of the two 'original' dragons. How I love that fact.
Wuya has gotten rid of 'good' and 'evil'. Kimiko's has a bad influence. 'nough said. She wrinkled her nose, shifting the holding-sling. "My reputation precedes me still, I..." Spying the hourglass, she narrowed her eyes. "Dashi sent you," she stated. "Well, you tell him we aren't coming back, so to stop sending people!"
"We?"
She bent down to show the baby in the sling ("See, he's fine!"), but before Omi could see it Dojo had called:
"Sands of Time!"
X-Men Recs:
Mice by penknife1
Summery: When Erik met Charles. XavierxMagneto, written for Clara in the 2006 XMM Ficathon.
First X-Men fic and man, I wasn't disappointed in the least. Erik is a dismissive little bastard who wants to put Xavier into a neat little category like he always does. It's a little frustrating, quite frankly. Since lil' Xavier doesn't seem to fit into any category, he figures sex will solve his problem. I snorted at that. Sometimes, though, I get nauseous whenever I read before-the-X-men fics because nothing ends well.
At the point at which Erik caught himself thinking that Xavier's hands cupped around a flask were very pretty, he resolved that this was obviously the sort of impulse that needed to be gotten out of his system before it got worse.
His Mother's Eyes by Artaxastra
Summery: Kurt tries to solve the mystery of his own origin, and in the process uncovers unexpected secrets. Kurt/Ororo, Erik/Mystique, Erik/Charles.
I'm not interested in Kurt/Ororo, am interested in Erik/Mystique, am very interested in Erik/Charles. When I clicked on the link, I was only in it for the Erik/Charles and anything that has the Kurt/Mystique mother-son relationship is a plus, but the Erik/Mystique was very 'heart-warming' (heart-warming and Erik really don't go together)
Kurt wants to find the mother that left him. Sometimes it's weird for me to understand that Mystique misses one of her children, because well, she abandoned Graydon Creed for being human and later kills him, proving that in her book, blood isn't thicker then water- but then again, Kurt is a mutant. Rogue is only a foster child, therefore Mystique is willing to kill her, if need be. Ah, well, that is not the point of the story-I just got sidetracked again.
Erik/Mystique is so seemingly 'innocent' in this, like they just 'love' each other because they're similar and it made me want to seek out more Erik/Mystique stuff. The Kurt/Ororo and Erik/Charles was a brief mention here and there, but I'm not complaining- it's a nice story anyways.
He leaned against the elegant paneling, still scarred from Logan's claws. She had cried and screamed. She had tried to get to him. He could not expect that she would have succeeded. She was a child, like Marie. But she had wanted him.
He took a deep breath. "I was born in Leipzig on October 15, 1975."
She stopped, a jar of tomato paste in her hand. She did not turn to face him.
"You called the hospital there, looking for me."
